What is Merchandise Inventory?
A merchandise business buys goods to resell to customers. Merchandise inventory is the stock of merchandise products and goods the business has purchased and holds for resale.
As the intention is to convert the inventory into cash within the next twelve months, it is included on the balance sheet of the merchandise company as a current asset.
